Details:
On or about Saturday, March 5th, 2022, sometime in the early morning hours, a hit-and-run accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle left a 31-year-old man dead. Officials from the SMPD said the accident was reported along Interstate 35 in San Marcos, Texas.
Authorities from the Texas Department of Public Safety said 31-year-old Adam Martinez was killed when he was allegedly hit by a vehicle as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of Interstate 35. After the initial accident, the vehicle fled the scene of the incident. Martinez was pronounced dead of his injuries a short time after the accident.
Police have since arrested 21-year-old Giovanni Fernandez in connection with the incident.
