On or about Monday, October 25th, 2021, around 10:27 in the morning, an accident between a pickup truck towing a trailer, a car, and a tractor-trailer left a 37-year-old Texas City man dead. Troopers from the DPS said the the accident was reported along Highway 79 just outside Carthage in Panola County, Texas.

Department of Public Safety officials said 37-year-old Adam Pacetti was killed when a pickup truck towing a trailer allegedly turned across traffic and into Pacetti’s path. Pacetti allegedly swerved to avoid the collision with the pickup, and veered into the path of a tractor-trailer. Pacetti corrected into his lane of traffic, but the tractor-trailer allegedly veered over the center line of the roadway and struck Pacetti’s car. Emergency responders pronounced Pacetti dead at the scene of the crash.

Officials identified the driver of the pickup truck towing the trailer as Jimmy Brister, and the driver of the tractor-trailer as Ramon Lumbi. Brister and Lumbi were unhurt in the accident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 2 miles southwest of Carthage, which is about 158 miles southeast of downtown Dallas.
