Details:
On or about Monday, November 1st, 2021, around 2:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a pedestrian and a transit bus left a man dead. Troopers from the GSP said the accident was reported near the Albany State University entrance on Dennis Drive in Albany, Georgia.
Officials said Adonis Butler was killed when he was allegedly struck by a transit bus as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the roadway near the Dennis Drive entrance to Albany State University. Butler died a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if he died at the scene or if he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, the Dennis Drive entrance to the Albany State University is on the east side of campus.
Police are still looking into the accident.
