On or about Monday, December 6th, 2021, around 3:20 in the morning, an accident between a box truck and a pedestrian claimed the life of a 20-year-old Camp Pendleton Marine. Representatives from the CHP said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 5 in Oceanside, California.
Law enforcement officials said 20-year-old Alberto Lucio was killed when he was allegedly struck by a box truck while he was tending to the scene of a previous rollover accident on Interstate 5. Emergency responders pronounced Lucio dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps., Interstate 5 runs along the coastal edge of Oceanside, which is about 38 miles north of San Diego.
