Details:
On or about Sunday, February 14th, 2021, an accident between two tractor-trailers left one person dead. Officials from the DPS said the accident happened on the eastbound side of Interstate 20 near Pyote in Ward County, Texas.
Law enforcement spokespeople said Arturo Ayala was driving an 18-wheeler that allegedly slammed into a disabled tractor-trailer operated by 45-year-old Alexander Garcia. Emergency responders pronounced Garcia dead of his injuries a short time after the incident. Paramedics transported Ayala to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
Google Maps shows Interstate 20 runs east and west along the southern edge of Pyote, which is about 191 miles southwest of Lubbock.
Police are still investigating the incident.
