Details:
On or about Thursday, July 1st, 2021, around 2:47 in the morning, an accident between a flatbed truck and a car claimed the life of a 28-year-old woman. Deputies from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office said the accident occurred on the southbound shoulder of Interstate 11 near Horizon Drive in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Troopers from the Nevada Highway Patrol said 28-year-old Alexis Gonzalez was killed when her car allegedly slammed into the back end of a tractor-trailer that was parked on the southbound shoulder of Interstate 11. First responders pronounced Gonzalez dead of her injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene. A passenger in the car was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 11 winds north and south through the south side of Las Vegas, with the scene of the accident situated not far from Henderson.
Police are still investigating the accident.
