On or about Wednesday, April 20th, 2022, sometime in the afternoon hours, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left a 54-year-old man dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along FM 1788 in Andrews County, Texas.
Officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety said 54-year-old Alfredo Oyervides Sanchez was killed when the vehicle he was in was allegedly struck head-on by a tractor-trailer that crossed over the center line of Farm-to-Market 1788. Emergency responders pronounced Oyervides-Sanchez dead of his injuries a short time after the accident. The driver of the tractor-trailer was treated for unspecified injuries after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from State Highway 176.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
