On or about Wednesday, May 4th, 2022, around 8:20 in the morning, an accident between a box truck and a pedestrian left a 16-year-old girl dead. Officers from the NYPD said the accident was reported along Paulding Avenue in The Bronx, New York.
Authorities from the New York Police Department said 16-year-old Alissa Kolenovic was killed when she was allegedly hit by a box truck as she was walking near or tried to cross the lanes of Paulding Avenue. Emergency responders rushed Kolenovic to nearby Jacobi Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after her arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from the exchange with Neill Avenue.
Officials are still working to pin down the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
