On or about Tuesday, October 27th, 2020, around 9:50 in the morning, an accident between an SUV and a utility truck claimed the life of a 55-year-old woman and injured two others. Officials said that the accident happened on FM 2484 in front of Salado High School in Salado, Texas.
Authorities said that 55-year-old Andrea Matthews was killed when the SUV she was driving allegedly veered from the eastbound lanes and collided with a westbound utility truck occupied by two men. Matthews was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene. Two occupants in the utility truck suffered unspecified injuries.
Taking a look at the scene of the accident on Google Streetview shows that FM 2484 is four lanes wide, and runs east and west through the northern portion of Salado. Salado is situated about 51 miles north of Austin.
The investigation into the accident is still active and ongoing.
