Details:
On or about Friday, October 16th, 2020, around 1:16 in the afternoon, an accident between a sedan and a utility truck claimed the life of an 86-year-old man from Catawba. The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 21 and Rutledge Drive just south of Rock Hill in York County, South Carolina.
Police representatives said that 86-year-old Andy Wolfe was killed when the Honda sedan he was driving southbound on Highway 21 was hit by a Ford utility truck that allegedly turned into his path from Rutledge Drive. Wolfe died of his injuries a short time after the collision.
A look at the area where the accident took place on Google Streetview shows that Highway 21 is four lanes, with two solid yellow lines dividing northbound and southbound traffic. Rutledge Drive, which runs east and west, is governed by a stop sign at the intersection. Rock Hill is located about 28 miles southwest of Charlotte.
Officers expect to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
