On or about Tuesday, February 22nd, 2022, sometime in the morning hours, an accident between a garbage truck and a teenager on a bike sent one person to the hospital with critical injuries. Troopers from the PSP said the accident was reported along Route 61 in Shamokin Township, Pennsylvania.

Law enforcement spokespeople said 18-year-old Angel Y. Rojas-Nunes was seriously injured when he was allegedly struck and dragged for roughly 300 feet by a garbage truck as he was riding a bike along Route 61. Paramedics rushed Rojas-Nunes to the hospital with critical injuries stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, Shamokin Township is about 122 miles northwest of Philadelphia.

Authorities from the area are still investigating the accident.
