On or about Wednesday, October 21st, 2020, around 7:05 in the morning, a rear-end collision between a car and a tractor-trailer sent a 46-year-old woman to the hospital. Authorities said the accident happened on Highway 100 in Franklin County, Missouri.

Officials have reason to believe that 46-year-old Angela Klahn was injured when her Toyota Prius was allegedly struck from behind by a tractor-trailer driven by Sanel Selimovic. Selimovic said he was allegedly distracted by a cigarette when he struck the Prius.

Paramedics transported Klahn to Mercy Washington Hospital to be treated for her injuries.

According to Google Maps, Highway 100 is two lanes, that runs east and westbound near the Missouri River. Franklin County sits about 53 miles east of St Louis.

Police hope to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
