Details:
On or about Sunday, November 21st, 2021, around 2:33 in the afternoon, a major accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer left a 48-year-old Searcy woman dead and sent two children to the hospital. Troopers from the ASP said the accident was reported along Highway 49 just outside Marvell in Phillips County, Arkansas.
Authorities from the Arkansas State Police said 48-year-old Annie Irene Lowery was killed and two children were injured when the vehicle they were in allegedly crossed over the center line of Highway 49 when it struck a tractor-trailer in the oncoming lanes of the roadway. Paramedics pronounced Lowery dead of her injuries a short time after the accident, while two children in the vehicle were taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital with unspecified injuries following the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance north of Marvell, which is about 98 miles east of downtown Little Rock.
Police are still examining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
