Details:
On or about Monday, March 22nd, 2021, around 2:30 in the afternoon, a garbage truck rollover accident claimed the life of a 57-year-old man. Troopers from the LSP said the accident happened at the Mundy Sanitary Landfill in Desoto Parish, Louisiana.
Police said 57-year-old Anthony Smith was killed when his truck was allegedly crushed by a dump truck that tipped while it was dumping it’s load at the landfill. Smith died of his injuries a short time after the accident, while one other person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Smith was driving a truck operated by Live Oak Environmental, while the other truck was operated by Francis Drilling Fluids.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
