On or about Tuesday, April 5th, 2022, around 9:99 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a child on a bike left a 12-year-old boy dead. Authorities from the MSP said the accident was reported along Highway 49 in Simpson County, Mississippi.
Officials from the Mississippi State Police said 12-year-old Anthony Wilder III was killed when he was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer while he was riding his bike alongside Highway 49. Emergency responders pronounced Wilder dead of his injuries a short time after he was hit. Authorities did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, Simpson County is about 38 miles southeast of downtown Jackson.
Officials are still investigating
