Details:
On or about Thursday, February 17th, 2022, around 6:30 in the evening, an accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle left a 71-year-old man dead. Local law enforcement spokespeople said the accident was reported along West Grand Avenue near the intersection with Garber Street in Marshall, Texas.
Investigators said 71-year-old Arturo Vega was killed when he was allegedly struck by a pickup truck as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross West Grand Avenue. Paramedics pronounced Vega dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. The as-of-yet unidentified driver of the pickup truck was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Marshall is about 151 miles southeast of downtown Dallas.
Officials are still investigating.
