On or about Wednesday, March 9th, 2022, sometime in the morning hours, a serious accident between a dump truck and a passenger vehicle sent two adults and three children to the hospital. Deputies from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Interstate 70 in New Bloomfield, Missouri.

Troopers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol said Ashley Abernathy and her three juvenile passengers were injured when a dump truck driven by Kenneth Hall allegedly crossed over the center line of Interstate 70 and struck their vehicle. Emergency responders transported Abernathy and the three children in her vehicle to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries. Officials identified the driver of the dump truck as Kenneth Hall, who was also injured in the collision.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 70 cuts east and west through New Bloomfield.

State and local agencies assisted following the accident.
