Details:
On or about Friday, January 15th, 2021, around 9:49 in the morning, an accident between a heavy duty pickup truck and an 18-wheeler left a 48-year-old man dead and sent a 28-year-old man to the hospital. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened along Highway 165 in Lonoke County, Arkansas.
State Police said 48-year-old Ashley Meeks was killed when the Ford F-550 he was driving allegedly veered over the center line of Highway 165 and struck a tractor-trailer driven by 28-year-old William Jones. Emergency responders pronounced Meeks dead of his injuries a short time after the accident. Jones was taken by EMS to Arkansas Children’s Hospital with unspecified injuries.
Arkansas State Troopers said the weather was clear and the roads were dry at the time of the crash.
According to Google Maps, Lonoke County is roughly 28 miles east of Little Rock.
Police are still investigating.
