On or about Tuesday, January 4th, 2022, around 11:47 in the morning, an accident involving a city garbage truck claimed the life of an 18-year-old RPM Staffing employee. Investigators from the area said the accident was reported in the 1900 block of Jackson Street in Paris, Texas.
Spokespeople from the area said 18-year-old Ashton Smallwood was killed when he was somehow involved in an accident with a city garbage truck on Jackson Street. Authorities did not specify the nature of the accident, or if Smallwood was in a vehicle at the time of the incident or if he was on foot. Smallwood was pronounced dead of his injuries after the accident, but it is not clear if he died at the scene or after being rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries later.
Officials indicated Smallwood was an employee of RPM Staffing that had been assigned to the City of Paris Public Works Department at the time of the incident.
