On or about Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021, an accident between an SUV and an 18-wheeler left an 86-year-old Adamstown woman dead. Deputies from the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at the intersection of Stony Run Road and North Reading Road in East Cocalico Township, Pennsylvania.

Law enforcement spokespeople said 86-year-old Audrey Lewandowski was killed when her SUV was allegedly struck by an 18-wheeler while she was making a turn at the intersection of Reading and Stony Run. Lewandowski died of her injuries a short time after the collision. Police did not mention any other injuries in their preliminary statement.

East Cocalico Township is situated about 61 miles northwest of downtown Philadelphia, according to Google Maps.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
