On or about Thursday, May 5th, 2022, around 11:52 at night, a two-vehicle accident with an alleged drunk driver left a 62-year-old man dead. Representatives from the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along North 10 Street in McAllen, Texas.
Spokespeople from the Texas Department of Public Safety said 62-year-old Augustin Molina Uribe was killed when his vehicle was allegedly struck by another vehicle driven by 28-year-old Angel Mia Villarreal while they were driving along North 10 Street. Emergency responders pronounced Uribe dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident.
Police arrested Angel Mia Villarreal at the scene on suspicion of intoxication manslaughter in connection with the crash.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from the intersection with Freddy Gonzalez Drive.
Officials are still investigating the accident.
