Details:
On or about Thursday, October 8th, around 1:20 in the afternoon, an accident with a dump truck and a car killed a 62-year-old woman. Police responded to the accident at the intersection of North Volusia Avenue and East Michigan Avenue in Orange City, Florida.
Police say that 62-year-old Aurelia Henderson was killed when the car she was in and a dump truck collided at the intersection. The dump truck rolled after the collision. EMS transported the truck driver to DeLand Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigators did not indicate which vehicle may have been at fault.
East Michigan Ave is a two-lane road that intersects with North Volusia Avenue, also known as Highway 17. Authorities have not said exactly which vehicle was on either road.
State police are assisting local law enforcement with the investigation.
