On or about Thursday, March 31st, 2022, around 6:17 in the morning, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian left a 61-year-old man dead. Local law enforcement officials said the accident was reported at the intersection of Moss Avenue and Third Street in Odessa, Texas.
Officials from the Odessa Police Department said 61-year-old Baldemar Zurita was killed when he was allegedly hit by a vehicle while he was was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of traffic at Moss and Third. Emergency responders pronounced Zurita dead a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Moss and Third is on the west side of Odessa.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
