Details:
On or about Thursday, March 31st, 2022, around 6:17 in the evening, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian left a 61-year-old man dead. Representatives from local law enforcement said the accident was reported at the intersection of Moss Avenue and Third Street in Odessa, Texas.
Authorities from the area said 61-year-old Baldemar Zurita was killed when he was allegedly hit by a vehicle as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of traffic at Moss and Third. Emergency responders pronounced Zurita dead a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if he died at the scene or if he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Moss Avenue and Third Street is on the west side of Odessa.
Officials are still investigating the incident.
