On or about Thursday, March 3rd, 2022, around 5:00 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian left a 44-year-old man dead. Investigators from the LSP said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Interstate 12 in Livingston Parish, Louisiana.
Authorities from the Louisiana Police said 44-year-old Benjamin Martel was killed when he was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of Interstate 12. Paramedics pronounced Martel dead of his injuries a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 12 winds east and west through Livingston Parish.
