Betty C. Benefield was killed and Charles Benefield and Jeffery S. Kanaday injured in a three vehicle collision with a 1997 Mack Commercial Truck on US Highway 278, near CR 1640, west of Holly Pond, in Cullman County, AL. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports the crash took place around 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2025, when the initial impact between the Benefield’s Silverado and the Mack truck driven by John J. Davidson took place. Their vehicle was then struck by a Dodge Ram driven by Jeffery S. Kanaday, who was also injured in the crash. The cause of the initial collision is currently under investigation.
