On or about Thursday, January 13th, 2022, around 3:04 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian claimed the life of a 43-year-old North Carolina man. Troopers from the ASP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 40 in North little Rock, Arkansas.

Deputies from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department said 43-year-old Billy Lynn Daugherty was killed when he was allegedly struck by a passing tractor-trailer as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of traffic on I-40. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead of his inquires a short time after the accident. Authorities did not mention any other vehicles in their report on the incident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 5 miles north of downtown Little Rock.

Officials are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
