On or about Tuesday, December 7th, 2021, around 8:44 in the morning, a major accident between a tractor-trailer and an 18-wheeler left one woman dead and sent two other people to the hospital. Troopers from the ASP said the accident was reported on the westbound side of Interstate 40 in St. Francis County, Arkansas.

Representatives from the Arkansas State Police said 69-year-old Bonnie Hutton was killed, while 59-year-old Charles Hutton and 44-year-old Jennifer Dysart were injured when the tractor-trailer Charles Hutton was driving allegedly rear-ended the Mack truck Dysart was driving as they were both westbound on I-40. Bonnie Hutton succumbed to her injuries a short time after the collision, while Dysart and Charles Hutton were taken to Forrest City Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 40 cuts east and west through St. Francis County, which is roughly 100 miles northeast of Little Rock.

Police are still investigating the circumstances leading to the collision.
