On or about Saturday, August 14th, 2021, around 7:00 in the morning, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 44-year-old New Boston man. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Highway 82 just outside De Kalb in Bowie County, Texas.
Officials from the DPS said 44-year-old Bradly Lara was killed when the Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck he was driving was allegedly struck by an eastbound tractor-trailer while he was attempting a turn into the parking lot. Emergency responders pronounced Lara dead at the scene of the incident. Police identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as Jason McManus, who was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance outside De Kalb, which is about 149 miles northeast of downtown Dallas.
