On or about Wednesday, July 6th, 2022, around 10:35 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left one individual dead. Spokespeople from the KSP said the accident was reported along the Kansas Turnpike in Topeka, Kansas.
Authorities from the Kansas State Police said 24-year-old Brandon Lummus was killed when he was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer while he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of the Kansas Turnpike. Paramedics pronounced Lummus dead of his injuries after the accident. Police did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the southeast side of Topeka.
