On or about Friday, October 29th, 2021, around 2:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car claimed the life of a 33-year-old Arlington woman. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Highway 19 just outside Canton in Van Zandt County, Texas.
Texas DPS officials said 33-year-old Brenna McClaran was killed when the car she was driving allegedly struck a tractor-trailer head-on when she attempted to pass a vehicle in the oncoming lanes of Highway 19. Paramedics pronounced McCLaran dead of her injuries at the scene of the accident. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured in the collision.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 6 miles north of Canton, which is about 59 miles southeast of downtown Dallas.
Police are still investigating the accident.
