On or about Thursday, July 15th, 2021, around 1:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a bus and a pickup truck left a 60-year-old man dead and sent another person to the hospital. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along Route 36 in Westernport, Maryland.
Troopers from the Maryland State Police said 60-year-old Brian Billmyre was killed when his pickup truck and a bus collided under unknown circumstances while driving down Route 36. Emergency responders pronounced Billmyre dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. The driver of the bus was cut from from the wreckage and rushed to the hospital with injuries of an unknown nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, Route 36 runs north and south through the town of Westport, which is about 162 miles west of Baltimore.
Police are still investigating the accident.
