On or about Sunday, July 11th, 2021, around 2:45 in the afternoon, an accident between a pedestrian and two tractor-trailers claimed the life of a 54-year-old man. Troopers from the NSP said the accident was reported at a grain business at the intersection of Kiowa Street and North Arapahoe Avenue in Wauneta, Nebraska.

Deputies from the Chase County Sheriff’s Office said 54-year-old Brian Stute was killed when he was allegedly pinned by against an 18-wheeler by another tractor-trailer as he was unrolling a tarp. Emergency responders rushed Stute to nearby Chase County Community Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their initial statement on the accident.

According to Google Maps, the town of Wauneta is about 327 miles southwest of Omaha.

Police are still investigating the accident.
