Details:
On or about Monday, January 31st, 2022, around 10:00 at night, a hit-and-run accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian left a 25-year-old woman dead. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Interstate 10 in Baytown, Texas.
Investigators said 25-year-old Brittany Mire was killed when she was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer as she was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross Interstate 10 near the exchange with Garth Road. After the impact with Mire, the tractor-trailer fled the scene of the accident. Emergency responders pronounced Mire dead of her injuries a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 10 winds east and west through Baytown, which is roughly 26 miles east of downtown Houston.
Police are still looking for the truck and driver.
