On or about Wednesday, April 28th, 2021, around 5:12 in the afternoon, an accident between an SUV, a car, and a tractor-trailer left one person dead and sent another to the hospital. Officials from the State Police said the accident was reported along Route 72 near the intersection with Williams Drive in Gretna Springs, Pennsylvania.
Investigators said 20-year-old Caleb X. Wesley was killed when the car he was in allegedly struck the side of a tractor-trailer traveling the same direction. After the initial impact, the car subsequently struck an SUV. Emergency responders pronounced Wesley dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Police identified the driver of the car as Dominic H. Gutshall, who was taken to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, Route 72 runs north and south through Gretna Springs, which is about 80 miles west of Philadelphia.
