On or about Friday, June 18th, 2021, around 10:00 in the morning, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 54-year-old Alexandria woman. Troopers from the VSP said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 95 in Hanover County, Virginia.

Officials from the VSP said 54-year-old Candace Fields-Rogers was killed when her pickup truck allegedly collided with the back of a disabled tractor-trailer that was parked on the southbound shoulder of the interstate. Paramedics pronounced Fields-Rogers dead of her injuries a short time after the accident. One other individual was rushed to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 95 runs north and south through the center of Hanover County, which is situated a short distance north of downtown Richmond.

Police are still investigating the accident.
