On or about Wednesday, November 4th, 2020, around 12:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer sent a 32-year-old Knox City man to the hospital. Officials said the accident happened at the intersection of Highway 63 and Highway 6 East in Kirksville, Missouri.
State Troopers said 32-year-old Carl Knoche was injured when his pickup truck was allegedly struck by an 18-wheeler that failed to yield. Knoche was transported by EMS to a nearby hospital for treatment of a possible head injury.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was identified as 42-year-old Bennie Oxendine, who was cited for failure to yield after the crash.
Google Maps shows the intersection is situated in the eastern side of Kirksville, which is located about 165 miles northeast of Kansas City.
Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted local officers with the scene of the accident.
