On or about Thursday, March 3rd, 2022, around 11:00 at night, a serious accident between a passenger vehicle and a commercial truck left one person dead and sent two other individuals to the hospital. Representatives from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Highway 288 in Alvin, Texas.
Authorities from the Texas Department of Public Safety said Carl Orise Jr. was killed when the Chevrolet Cruze he was driving was allegedly struck by a commercial truck driving the wrong direction on Highway 288. Emergency responders pronounced Orise dead a short time after the accident. The driver and passenger in the commercial truck were treated for injuries of an unspecified nature or severity stemming from the collision.
According to Google Maps, Highway 288 cuts north and south through Alvin.
Police are still trying to pin down why the commercial truck may have been driving the wrong direction on the highway.
