On or about Thursday, January 7th, 2021, around 7:05 in the morning, an accident between an 18-wheeler and an SUV claimed the life of a 26-year-old Trinity woman. Law enforcement representatives from the area said the accident happened at the intersection of County Road 213 and Highway 157 just outside Moulton in Lawrence County, Alabama.

Troopers from the ALEA said 26-year-old Carly Dunlap was killed when her Toyota 4Runner failed to yield to a stop sign and was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer in the intersection. Dunlap died of her injuries a short time after the accident, while a child in the SUV was taken to the hospital by helicopter.

Looking at the intersection on Google Streetview, Highway 157 is four lanes, with a wide, grassy median dividing east and westbound traffic. County Road 213 runs north and south with two lanes. Only County Road 213 has a stop sign at the intersection.
