Details:
On or about Saturday, June 18th, 2022, around 10:00 at night, a hit-and-run accident between a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian left a 48-year-old man dead. Representatives from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along McCombs Street in El Paso, Texas.
Officers from the El Paso Police Department said 48-year-old Cecil Blesh O’Neal III was killed when he was allegedly hit by a vehicle while he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of McCombs Street. After the initial accident, the vehicle fled the scene. Emergency responders pronounced O’Neal dead of his injuries after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if he died at the scene or after he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to Google Maps, the McCombs Street cuts north and south into El Paso.
Police are still looking for the driver and vehicle that fled the scene.
