On or about Tuesday, March 15th, 2022, around 1:52 in the afternoon, a major accident between a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck left a 70-year-old man dead. Troopers from the NMSP said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of County Road 206 and State Highway 200 just outside Carlsbad in Eddy County, New Mexico.
Officials from the New Mexico State Police said 70-year-old Cecil W. Marks was killed when the pickup truck he was driving and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances while driving at or near the intersection of County Road 206 and Highway 200. Emergency responders rushed Marks to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance north of Carlsbad.
Police are still investigating the accident.
