On or about Monday, May 16th, 2022, around 9:45 at night, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian left a 37-year-old woman dead. Law enforcement representatives said the accident was reported along Shadow Mountain Drive in El Paso, Texas.
Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety said 37-year-old Celina Coria was killed when she was allegedly hit by a passing pickup truck as she was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross Shadow Mountain Drive. Officials said Coria may have been attempting to retrieve a dropped cell phone from the roadway. Emergency responders rushed Coria to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after their arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from the intersection with Mesa Street.
Officials are still investigating the accident.
