Details:
On or about Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021, an accident between a dump truck and a construction flagger claimed the life of a 71-year-old Goodlettsville man. Police said the accident was reported at a construction site near the intersection of Jerry Newson Way and South 5th Street in Nashville, Tennessee.
Officials said 71-year-old Charlie Ellis was killed when he was allegedly backed over by a dump truck driven by Dennis Miller. Paramedics pronounced Ellis dead of his injuries a short time after the accident. Miller was uninjured in the incident.
Police said Miller may have been improperly backing at the time of the accident, but no charges or citations have been issued at the time of writing.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
