Details:
On or about Saturday, May 28th, 2022, around 1:18 in the morning, a hit-and-run car accident with a pedestrian left a 31-year-old man dead. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 35 in Austin, Texas.
Texas Department of Public Safety officials said 31-year-old Chase Nelson was killed when he was allegedly hit by a vehicle while he was walking alongside or tried to cross I-35. After the initial accident, the vehicle fled the scene. Emergency responders pronounced Nelson dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the incident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the south side of Austin.
Police are still looking for the driver and vehicle that fled the scene.
