Details:

A young child was killed after they were struck by an ice cream truck near Rutland Street and Diversey Avenue in Detroit, MI. Officers with the Detroit Police Department say the accident took place around 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025.

Authorities would only say the child that was struck was younger than 10. The driver of the ice cream truck remained at the scene, and is cooperating with the investigation.
