On or about Monday, February 21st, 2022, around 8:15 in the evening, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV left a 10-month-old child dead and sent two people to the hospital. Troopers from the CHP said the accident was reported along the National Trails Highway in San Bernardino County, California.

Authorities from the California Highway Patrol said an as-of-yet unidentified 10-year-old boy was killed, while a 31-year-old woman and a 14-year-old were injured when the SUV they were in allegedly collided with a tractor-trailer that had rolled into the westbound lanes from the shoulder of the roadway. Emergency responders pronounced the 10-month-old child dead at the scene, while the two other occupants were taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to Google Maps, the National Trails Highway winds east and west through San Bernardino County.

Authorities are still investigating the accident.
