On or about Tuesday, February 8th, 2022, around 3:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer left a 24-year-old man dead. Representatives from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 70 and Farm-to-Market Road 378 in Lockney, Texas.
Authorities from the Texas DPS said 24-year-old Christian Bursiaga was killed when his vehicle was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Highway 70 and Farm-to-Market Road 378. Paramedics pronounced Bursiaga dead of his injuries a short time after the collision. The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries after the collision.
According to Google Maps, Lockney is about 57 miles northeast of downtown Lubbock.
Officials are still investigating the accident.
