Details:
On or about Thursday, January 27th, 2022, around 9:00 in the morning, a serious accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left a 61-year-old woman dead. Deputies from the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported in the 9400 block of Route 47 in Dwight, Illinois.
Authorities from the Illinois State Police said 61-year-old Christine Baker was killed when her car was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer as she was exiting a driveway along Route 47. Emergency responders pronounced Baker dead of her injuries after the accident, but it is not currently clear if she died at the scene or after being rushed to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after her arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 77 miles southwest of downtown Chicago.
Officials are still investigating.
