Details:
On or about Wednesday, May 11th, 2022, around 6:10 in the evening, a major motorcycle accident claimed the life of a 44-year-old man. Representatives from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along U.S. Highway 62 in Lubbock County, Texas.
Authorities from the Texas DPS said 44-year-old Christopher James Mendoza was killed when the motorcycle he was driving allegedly veered off the side of Highway 62 and crashed into a barrier a short distance off the pavement. Emergency responders pronounced Mendoza dead a short time after the accident, but it is not currently clear if he died at the scene or after he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about three miles east of the town of Idalou.
Officials are still investigating the crash.
