On or about Sunday, January 2nd, 2022, around 2:40 in the morning, a serious single-vehicle car accident with an alleged drunk driver left an 18-year-old dead and sent two juveniles to the hospital. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at the intersection of Champion Forest Drive and Grand Parkway in Spring, Texas.

Law enforcement spokespeople from the area said 18-year-old Christopher Lujan was killed, while two juveniles were injured when the Chevrolet Camaro they were in, driven by 17-year-old Charbel Boueri, allegedly veered off the side of the road and crashed into a sign a short distance off the roadway. Emergency responders pronounced Lujan dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident, while two juvenile passengers were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the crash.

Authorities have since charged Carbel Boueri with one count of Felony Murder and two counts of Intoxication Assault in connection with the accident.

Officers are still working to pin down all the factors that contributed to the accident.
